Privacy Policy

Last updated September 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Answerly AI collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using the app, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect: your name and email address (or your Google account email, if you sign in with Google); questions you type or photograph, and the images themselves while they're being processed; your chat and practice history, quiz results, and study timer sessions; a push-notification token for your device, if you enable notifications; and anything you submit through in-app feedback, including optional technical details like your app version and device platform.

How we use it: to answer your questions and generate explanations; to let you pick up your history, practice results, and study sessions across app opens; to send you notifications you've opted into; to improve the app based on feedback and reported issues; and to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

How answers are generated: some questions are answered directly by built-in solvers running on our own servers, with no data leaving our systems. Others are sent to third-party AI providers to generate an explanation — we don't disclose which specific provider handled a given question, but no provider is used to build an advertising profile of you, and your data is not sold to anyone.

Where your data is stored: uploaded images are processed and then deleted from our servers; a copy may be retained in cloud storage (Amazon Web Services S3) only as long as your account exists. Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google). If you sign in with Google, we receive only the basic profile information Google provides for authentication.

Children's privacy: Answerly AI is built for students and may be used by minors under a parent or guardian's supervision. We do not knowingly collect more information from a child than is needed to provide the service, and we do not use children's data for advertising.

Your rights: you can review and update your profile information in the app at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data — see our Account Deletion page for exactly what that removes and how. If you have questions about your data, contact us using the details on our About Us page.

Security: we use standard safeguards (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy: if we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
